Day 1: Machame Gate (1,800m) – Machame Camp (3,000m)
Transfer from Moshi or Arusha to Machame Gate.
Begin trekking through lush rainforest.
Hiking time: 5–6 hours
Dinner and overnight: Machame Camp
Day 2: Machame Camp – Shira Camp (3,840m)
Leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone.
Enjoy views of Shira Plateau and Kibo Peak.
Hiking time: 4–5 hours
Dinner and overnight: Shira Camp
Day 3: Shira Camp – Lava Tower (4,630m) – Barranco Camp (3,960m)
Trek to Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp.
This day helps your body adjust to the altitude.
Hiking time: 6–7 hours
Dinner and overnight: Barranco Camp
Day 4: Barranco Camp – Barafu Camp (4,640m)
Climb the impressive Barranco Wall, then cross alpine terrain.
Arrive at Barafu Camp, the base camp before the summit push.
Hiking time: 6–7 hours
Dinner and overnight: Barafu Camp
Day 5: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Mweka Camp (3,100m)
Midnight start for the summit attempt.
Reach Stella Point, then continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa!
Descend to Barafu, rest, then continue to Mweka Camp.
Hiking time: 12–14 hours
Dinner and overnight: Mweka Camp
Day 6: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Drive to Moshi/Arusha
Final descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate.
Receive your summit certificate and transfer back to your hotel.
Hiking time: 3–4 hours
