Day 1: Rongai Gate (1,950m) – Simba Camp (2,620m)
Drive from Moshi/Arusha to Rongai Gate.
Begin the trek through forest and farmland to Simba Camp.
Hiking time: 4–5 hours
Dinner and overnight: Simba Camp
Day 2: Simba Camp – Kikelewa Camp (3,600m)
Trek across moorland and take in views of Kibo Peak.
Gentle but steady uphill hike to Kikelewa Camp.
Hiking time: 6–7 hours
Dinner and overnight: Kikelewa Camp
Day 3: Kikelewa Camp – Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,330m)
Climb steeply up to the Mawenzi Tarn, located below Mawenzi Peak.
The camp offers stunning views and a great acclimatization point.
Hiking time: 4–5 hours
Dinner and overnight: Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Day 4: Acclimatization at Mawenzi Tarn
Short hikes around the camp to aid acclimatization.
Rest and prepare for the high-altitude days ahead.
Dinner and overnight: Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn – Kibo Hut (4,700m)
Cross the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
Arrive at Kibo Hut, where you'll rest before your summit push.
Hiking time: 5–6 hours
Dinner and overnight: Kibo Hut
Day 6: Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Horombo Hut (3,720m)
Begin summit trek around midnight.
Reach Uhuru Peak, the top of Africa!
Descend to Horombo Hut for overnight rest.
Hiking time: 12–14 hours
Dinner and overnight: Horombo Hut
Day 7: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Drive to Moshi/Arusha
Final descent through the forest to Marangu Gate.
Receive your summit certificate and return to your hotel.
Hiking time: 5–6 hours
