Day 1: Umbwe Gate (1,800m) – Umbwe Cave Camp (2,850m)
Begin the climb at Umbwe Gate, trekking through thick forest and steep ridges.
Arrive at Umbwe Cave Camp for the night.
Hiking time: 5–6 hours
Dinner and overnight: Umbwe Cave Camp
Day 2: Umbwe Cave – Barranco Camp (3,950m)
The trail becomes steeper as you rise above the forest line into moorland.
Catch views of Kibo Peak and settle at Barranco Camp.
Hiking time: 5–6 hours
Dinner and overnight: Barranco Camp
Day 3: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp (3,995m)
Climb the famous Barranco Wall, then descend into valleys and climb again.
Camp at Karanga, nestled in high alpine desert.

Day 4: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp (4,673m)
Steady ascent toward Barafu Base Camp, your last stop before the summit.
Early dinner and rest to prepare for the midnight climb.

Day 5: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Mweka Camp (3,100m)
Start at midnight for the final push to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point.
Enjoy sunrise at the summit, then descend to Mweka Camp.

Day 6: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Transfer to Moshi/Arusha
Final descent through rainforest.
Pick up your summit certificate at Mweka Gate and transfer back.
